War on Kids

My sister sent me this article.  It is super long, but it's really worth reading.  It is so hard to keep the wolves at bay when it comes to the hearts and souls of our kids.  It is so much easier to buy a few precious minutes of peace with a video game, or a phone, or a whatever shiny-screen-thing.  But man do we pay for it.  The threshold is so low for these things ... they start so innocuously.  Reading to our kids, talking to our kids, getting them to help run the home they live in, too, that is super-high-threshold stuff.  It's exhausting. But the end game of the digital handover by the parent is way, way worse.  The article is heart breaking and you really feel for these families.  It's so easy to lose our kids.

There is a blessing and there is a warning given by Malachi on this very issue.  Technology addiction in the Bible?  Oh yes, my friend.

Malachi 4:6 "He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction."

Our teen girls in the phych ward and our young men impotent for adulthood - that is total destruction.
