Gabe turned 15 today. We went around the table to say what we liked most about Gabe and of all the things we said, Jason said the best thing. He said that he was proud that Gabe was obedient and gave honour to us, and much more importantly to God, when away from the home and out of our sight. It reminded me of David's commission to Solomon in 1st Kings.
"David gave a charge to Solomon his son, 'So be strong, act like a man, and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.' "
Of all the successes Gabe has had this year, I am thankful for his maturing desire to know God and His laws, to apply them in life, not as etherial ideas, but in his walk every day.
May you be blessed, by a God who loves you perfectly, Gabriel.
Love from your family, who loves you lots, but not as perfectly.
